The Role:

This job contributes to Starbucks’ success by providing partner development, training solutions, and operations support, which enhance each partner’s performance. The role requires training and support of all development needs with the Learning & Development Manager and Operation Leader in the market. Act by the Company’s guiding principles.

 

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

Foundational Training

  • Facilitate the training and development of Barista, Shift Supervisor, Store Manager, Training Store Manager, and District Manager Roles
  • Facilitate all workshops required for foundational training of Barista, Shift Supervisor, Store Manager, Training Store Manager, and District Manager Roles
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Learning Scorecard to enable Operations to analyze the needs of their area of responsibility and make recommendations
  • Manages compliance numbers for Basic Food Safety, Person in Charge, and any other market requirements

Enhanced Programs

  • Manage Store Coffee Master program and Barista Trainer certifications
  • Manage partner recognition programs for both field and support center partners
  • Lead District and Regional Barista Championships
  • Initiate training programs relevant to the area of responsibility needs and recommend programs and tools that may facilitate ongoing process improvements
  • Work with central L&D functions for brand training needs

Operations Support

  • Support onboarding of new partners by distributing training journals and tools
  • Support and guide District Managers and Operation Lead during Shift Supervisor and Store Manager interviews and assessments/panels
  • Coordinate operational learning needs and Partner development with Market Operation Lead and Brand Training Manager.
  • Coordinate and communicate future manpower and training needs with Operation Lead; identify gaps where required
  • Collaborate with Operation Lead to ensure all certified partners are on promotion lists
  • Support campaign launches and mockups
  • Support operations excellence initiatives as the business require
  • Manage stock levels and distribution of Resource and Training Manuals for new and existing stores

 

Role Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Store Manager experience or above required.
  • Training Store Manager preferred.
  • Experience with project management, including all elements of scope, time, cost, risk, quality, integration, procurement, human resources, and communications

Skills:

  • Strong presentation skills and organization of workshops.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with partners on all levels and work cross-functionally in a matrix organization
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Additional role requirements:

  • Ability to self-manage calendar and time
  • Ability to work with and influence across multiple leadership levels
  • Ability to lead complex program and project efforts to completion
  • Ability to work in both an office and field environment. Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods when required
  • Ability to travel locally or internationally (where required)
