The Role:

Financial Analyst enables senior leadership to remain commercially focused and to assist in making strategic business decisions based on accurate and timely information.

In this role you will produce regular and ad hoc reports as well as analyze information and pro-actively investigate any additional management information requirements.

This is a varied and diverse role which will enable you to make a valuable contribution to the growth of Alshaya as a whole.

 

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing relevant, timely and accurate financial and management information to senior management in adherence with strict deadlines. Responsibilities include:

  • Annual Business plan and forecasts
    • Work in conjunction with various Brand teams to build robust annual Business Plan based on previous, current, and forecasted financial performance and market information.
    • Assist directors and function heads to present final budgets to the President and CFO
    • Ensure that KPIs (Targets) are achieved tactfully and strategically.
  • Regular Reporting
    • Publish monthly financial reports to multiple stakeholders based on areas of responsibility
    • Deep dive into PnL to identify risks and opportunities
    • Coordinate with accounting team in case of any discrepancies in financials
  • Assess performance results for accuracy and use information to interpret and build models for future performance.
    • Identify critical success factors and the Key performance indicators for the business.
    • Review and report budgets against trading performance periodically i.e. daily, weekly, or annually on the KPI`s.
    • Adhoc reporting on financials and scenario analysis
  • Provide financial and strategic advice to Directors / Function Heads in the division
    • Contribute to the Business decision-making process by undertaking detailed decision support analysis for brand, channel and country profitability and ongoing costs reviews.
    • Provide sound financial and strategic advice to Leadership team to support critical business decisions.
    • Critical business decisions may include new brands, new channel, or market enhancements.
    • Re-forecasts contribution expectations to highlight most probable performance on a periodic basis.
  • Deliver feedback and coaching to the function teams where necessary.
    • Report lagging and leading performance indicators to highlight performance issues and
    • Concerns for the Business Managers for them to act quickly and appropriately.
    • Illustrate results, trends or conditions, which impact profitability.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications –
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant from reputed firms (Big 4 firms an advantage)
    • Or other Finance / Accounting certifications – CFA, CPA, CMA, ACCA etc.
    • Or Masters degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Commercial Finance is a must
  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint Skills
  • Experience with working on ERP systems
  • Experience within retail or FMCG sectors preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
