Role Profile:
As the MENA Director of Operations for Starbucks, this role is responsible for leading operational strategy, execution, and growth initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa region. The Director ensures that brand standards are consistently met, operational excellence is achieved, and the unique needs of diverse markets are addressed. The role requires strong cross-cultural leadership, the ability to drive business results, and the vision to support Starbucks’ expansion and customer experience goals throughout the MENA region.
Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:
- Shapes the market strategic plan as an influential member of the leadership team to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and market expansion
- Develops effective relationships with functional leaders and collaborates to implement the strategic plan, including working with the Property team to grow the portfolio of stores in optimal locations
- Sets the standard for operational excellence and leads with a deep understanding of the work, systems, and tools, ensuring Starbucks operating standards are achieved
- Establishes clear priorities for the field team based on the annual operating plan and adjusts plans in response to changing business needs
- Develops the leadership capabilities of direct reports and team members, inspiring them to foster training and development within their teams
- Regularly uses a business analysis cycle to identify trends and guide activities that improve operational results across their area of responsibility
- Leads operational strategy, execution, and growth initiatives across the MENA region, ensuring brand standards and operational excellence are consistently met
Experience
- Proven executive leadership with substantial P&L responsibility in a large consumer-facing business, preferably in food & beverage (F&B), retail, or hospitality.
- Prior experience in the GCC region with demonstrated ability to navigate regulatory environments, market dynamics, and cultural nuances.
Education
- MBA or equivalent advanced business degree preferred.
- A combination of strong business acumen and strategic thinking is essential.
Language and Communication
- Proficiency in English and Arabic will be a plus
- Superior communication, negotiation, and influencing skills; ability to represent Starbucks at executive levels and with public sector stakeholders.
